Sounds like there might be wedding bells this weekend for Matthew McConaughey and fiancée Camila Alves. The longtime loves are tying the knot in the "Magic Mike" star's home state of Texas, E! News is reporting.

Much like their not-so-public romance, the ceremony is apparently going to be a low-key affair, as the duo have only invited about two dozen of their family members and friends. Despite the leaked word, workers involved in the hush-hush event were asked to sign nondisclosure agreements in order to keep details under wraps.

Alves was scheduled to be honored by the Step Up Women's Network on Friday afternoon (June 8) with a special luncheon in Beverly Hills, but instead has planned to deliver a speech via video chat, perhaps allowing the 30-year-old Brazilian model to be close to home for wedding preparations.

McConaughey and Alves started their romance back in 2006 and have two children: 2-year-old daughter Vida and 3-year-old son Levi. The two were engaged on Christmas of last year. "Just asked Camila to marry me, Merry Christmas," the actor wrote on his WhoSay page, accompanied by a photo of the couple kissing near their Christmas tree.

If the nuptial rumors turn out to be true, June will be a busy month for McConaughey. His upcoming stripper flick, "Magic Mike," hits theaters June 29, starring string of A-list actors including Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello and Matt Bomer. McConaughey is also set to appear on the soundtrack for the film.

Send your well-wishes to McConaughey and Alves in the comments below.

Kim Kardashian Gives Kanye West $750K Birthday Lamborghini

Lamborghini mercy, guess what Kim Kardashian got Kanye West for his birthday? No, it wasn't the Murciélago — we're pretty sure Yeezy already has one of those, seeing as the exclusive model was the inspiration for his new G.O.O.D. Music single "Mercy." Instead, Kimmy kicked it up a notch and dropped $750,000 on a Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 for her beau's 35th birthday.

Hopefully TMZ didn't ruin the surprise when they published pics of the rare black two-door sports car. According to the site, Kardashian couldn't bring the gift to 'Ye because he's in Ireland with Jay-Z for another stop on the European leg of their Watch the Throne Tour, so Kim took a video of the car in L.A. so she could show him.

"Kimye" began dating earlier this spring and have since become prime targets for the paparazzi, who have snapped the lovebirds on both coasts. The pair were also spotted at the Cannes Film Festival in May, where Yeezy premiered his "Cruel Summer" film. Last week, TMZ reported that both Kanye and Kim put their Los Angeles-area homes up for sale, fueling rumors that the two are planning to move in together.

On Wednesday, 'Ye and his G.O.O.D. Music comrades dropped the video for their "Mercy" single, which they spot in an art-deco inspired parking garage. Now that the Louis Vuitton Don has a new toy to rap about, we wonder if a remix is on the horizon.

Leave your Kanye West birthday wishes in the comments!

'True Blood' Season Five: The Reviews Are In!

Critics agree the show is worthy summer entertainment but find the plot lacking focus.
By Fallon Prinzivalli

Our favorite fantastical creatures from Bon Temps return Sunday night (June 10) with the season-five premiere of HBO's "True Blood."

The previous season left off with Sookie professing love for both Eric and Bill while ultimately choosing herself over either lover. Alcide uncovered a giant hole in a cement parking lot, leading us to believe we haven't heard the last of Russell Edgington. And in the final sequence before the credits, Debbie meant to unload a round of lead into Sookie, but Tara jumped in the way and had half her head blown off.

Along with hopefully revealing whether Sookie's BFF survived the blast or not, the latest season brings vampire authority in the form of "Law and Order: SVU" star Christopher Meloni, who comes to restore order in the blood-sucking community. Here's what critics are saying about the season's opener.

The Story
"The first four episodes of Season 5 recently sent out to critics reflect what's wrong with the most recent seasons of the HBO drama: they lack focus. The plot, which is based in part on Charlaine Harris's novels, zigzags in so many different directions that it often seems as though there are no less than 10 separate television shows existing side by side within 'True Blood.' While the early seasons of the show wisely focused on a few main characters ... the show's success at creating vivid and engaging supporting characters has also been its downfall.

Rather than allow these characters to exist on the periphery where they might thrive, Alan Ball and his writing staff have forced them front and center, which means that each season now needs to incorporate storylines for the entire cast, which now numbers in the several dozen. The result is a jumble of unrelated storylines that lack cohesion and a strong throughline. (Last season gave us witches, disembodied spirits, shifters, shamans, and faeries, all vying for control of the story.) With almost every character off doing his or her own thing, there's a distinct lack of unity in the narrative, something keenly felt in the haphazard and unsatisfying fourth season, and that feeling continues into Season 5." — Jace Lacob, The Daily Beast

The Authority
"Five seasons ago, I publicly declared my undying hatred of all things 'True Blood.' ... [But Season 5 has] added a new element that makes it something I can finally (I'm sorry) sink my teeth into. They've added politics as blood sport. Authority has come to town, boys and gargoyles. ... On next week's episode, the new Guardian, Roman, head of the Authority, is introduced and it's none other than Christopher Meloni. We still have vamp SVUs, so he's pledged to root out and bring the 'Sanguinistas,' who believe God created humans as a food source for vamps, to heel." — Linda Stasi, New York Post

Kristin Bauer van Straten's Pam
"As usual, Pam gets the best lines. When she enters Sookie's blood-soaked kitchen to find Sookie killed Debbie Pelt in retaliation for shooting Tara, Pam observes, 'Color me impressed. You know how to party.' Later, after aiding Sookie's efforts, Pam declares, 'I'm wearing a Wal-Mart sweatshirt for you all. If that's not a demonstration of team spirit, I don't know what is.' " — Rob Owen, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

The Final Word, Pro-Con Style
"As always on a show that tends to be messy in all senses of the word, plots and characters tumble into each other and sometimes threaten to push each other right off the screen. Immediately after tying up last year's plot strings (by the end of the first hour, you'll know the fate of Rutina Wesley's Tara), 'True' launches into multiple new crises, led by the horrifying and welcome return of Denis O'Hare's Russell Edgington. The stories are not all equal, but most more than carry their weight, and all are laced with both humor and the writer's respect for dramatic consequences. Put them together, and you get summer TV at its witty, riveting best. Come on in; the 'Blood' is fine." — Robert Bianco, USA Today

"Silly doesn't even begin to describe most of what goes on in the first few episodes, which include a veiled shout-out to former New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey, an enormous wink involving the folk standard 'Turn! Turn! Turn!' and, as always, an unruly number of subplots. And yet, like an addiction to free-range hemoglobin, there's something undeniably compelling about the characters, human and otherwise, in a series whose plotting grows more twisted every year. It doesn't hurt that this season's new blood includes characters played by Christopher Meloni ('Law & Order: SVU') and Tina Majorino ('Big Love'). But this is reportedly creator Alan Ball's final year as showrunner, and if everything truly has a season, it might be time to think about putting a stake through 'True Blood' before it begins to seem more undead than alive." — Ellen Gray, Philadelphia Daily News

Lindsay Lohan was taken to the hospital Friday (June 8) after her black Porsche collided with an 18-wheel semi-trailer truck, TMZ is reporting.

Santa Monica police said the accident occurred on the Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica and that an investigation into the collision was ongoing.

The actress was transported to the hospital, though reportedly not by ambulance. While Lohan's condition is not known, she is reportedly in the hospital with doctors performing tests, though on-scene sources say she appears to have not suffered any major injuries.

The actress' Porsche was reportedly totaled in the accident. Photos of the vehicle show a severely damaged front end, with the hood pushed up and nearly dislodged, the airbag deployed and a smashed windshield. The passenger-side window was reportedly shattered and the rear bumper was torn off her car.

In March, Lohan completed her probation related to two 2007 DUI cases and has been working steadily to get her derailed career back on track. Though she received mixed reviews, she delivered big ratings for "Saturday Night Live" when she hosted the legendary sketch comedy show earlier this year and more recently, despite reports of on-set drama, earned positive notices for her appearance on "Glee."

The 25-year-old actress is currently filming the TV biopic "Liz & Dick," in which she stars as film icon Elizabeth Taylor. The first publicity still from the movie was released this week, showing Lohan with a short black bob.

By Kara Warner

Just about nothing makes more headlines in the world of entertainment than celebrity engagements. Unsurprisingly, the news of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's plans to wed has caused a media storm. Since their romance got its start on the set of their movie "The Last Song", we got to thinking about all the other couples who met and later married after meeting at work

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan
The "Magic Mike" star and his lovely actress/dancer wife Jenna Dewan met in 2006 during the filming of "Step Up." They officially started dating after production wrapped, were engaged in 2008 and married on July 11, 2009, in Malibu.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
The headline-grabbing couple was born out of their filming 2005's action adventure "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." Though rumors swirled of an on-set romance, Brangelina insisted that they didn't start dating until after Pitt was officially separated from then-wife Jennifer Aniston. Pitt was not Jolie's first set-generated romance, she had married onetime co-stars Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner met in 2003 on the set of "Daredevil," shortly after Garner ended a relationship with another co-star, Michael Vartan, whom she met on "Alias." Affleck and Garner became engaged nine months later and married on June 29, 2005. Similar to Jolie's serial on-set dating, Jennifer Garner had previously dated and married her "Felicity" co-star Scott Foley.

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr.
Although Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. met and became friends on the set of 1997's teen horror flick "I Know What You Did Last Summer," they didn't start dating until 2000.The couple became engaged in 2001 and were married in Mexico on September 1, 2002 in a ceremony officiated by "Rock of Ages" director Adam Shankman, with whom Gellar had worked on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

Jay-Z and Beyoncé
Despite their superstar status and being named Forbes magazine's top earning couple in entertainment last year, Jay-Z and Beyoncé are the most private couple on this list. We don't know the official start of their relationship, but all reports point to their musical collaborations on 2002's hits "03 Bonnie & Clyde" and "Crazy in Love." The couple married in April 2008.

Exclusive: The-Dream Didn't Send Gwyneth Paltrow's Paris Tweet

Turns out it wasn't The-Dream who sent the now-infamous "N---as in Paris" tweet from Gwyneth Paltrow's phone, but the Love King still insists that his buddy did nothing wrong.

"Well, we were there, of course. We were Patron'd out of our minds, number one. Number two, I was moreso trying to take the heat for a friend because I knew that the reaction was going to be silly," The-Dream admitted to MTV News on the carpet for vitaminwater's Fader Uncapped concert in Hollywood on Thursday night. "I know what she meant; I know what she didn't mean."

Last weekend, while onstage at the Throne's much-ballyhooed Paris concert, Paltrow tweeted a pic of herself with a few friends and captioned it: "Ni**as in Paris for real @mrteriousnash (the dream) tyty, beehigh."

The tweet caused much controversy, sparking a debate over who should and shouldn't be allowed to use the N-word. The-Dream says he knows that the actress didn't mean for the tweet to be derogatory and also suggests that the issue isn't so black-and-white. "We created a song and titled it like that. It's one of the biggest songs out, especially [since] Jay and Kanye are two of the biggest rap figures," he began to explain. "It's like a catch-22, it's like a trick, like 'Yeah we're gonna say it and we're gonna sell it to you, but you can't really use it and you can't say it."

After Paltrow came under fire, the "Shawty Is a 10" singer came to her rescue and took the blame, claiming that he was the one who sent the message from Gwyn's phone. Now he admits it was all just a cover-up. "I knew it was going to be silly from the beginning, so I just tried to jump to her defense," he said to MTV News. "Unfortunately, people were bothered and I understand it to a degree, but you have to still understand that we give the word its own power."

The magnitude of Hov and Yeezy's historic concert isn't lost on The-Dream. He hopes that by performing "N---as in Paris" multiple times in Paris, the Throne can eventually change the complexion of the city. "If you know the culture there, then you know it's not really bound to blacks in that type of a way. It's soft and gloomy, but it's not us," he says of Paris. "So I understand the title of the song, I know what the movement is, and I extremely was touched after they performed in Paris 11 times because I know that's going to affect the culture 10 years from now."

Was The-Dream justified in defending Gwyneth Paltrow? Sound off in the comments

Irv Da Phenom Learns Rap's Ropes From Tech N9ne

Fire Starter: Irv Da Phenom

Essential Info: You get back what you put out. It's a concept that Kansas City, Missouri, rapper Irv Da Phenom understands well. That's why the up-and-coming rapper isn't afraid to get his hands dirty. Now, on his latest album, Who the F--- Is Irv Da Phenom?, the Midwest MC looks to really define himself.

"I'm just a young man from Wyandotte County, Kansas City, a hard worker [who] was gifted to do music," Irv told Mixtape Daily in answer to the very question that his album title poses. "I'm just trying to provide my point of view through music and move people with it."

The self-proclaimed Phenom first got into music while singing in the church where his father was a deacon. As a child he wasn't allowed to listen to rap music, but eventually, by the age of 13, he found hip-hop influences in Eminem, Busta Rhymes and his hometown hero Tech N9ne. Turns out that Irv would meet Tech as a teenager during a studio session and then years later end up touring with the Strange Music juggernaut.

"As years went on, he seen me doing my thing around the town, rapping. And then I pop up at his shows," he said of his relationship with Tecca Nina. "It just eventually grew and grew. I was blessed to be able to go out on tour with him. He heard my music one day and was like, 'Man you're supposed to be making music with us,' and that's how we ended up linking up."

Irv didn't ink with Tech's Strange Music but started his own independent label, Def Metal Gospel, through which he released his underground albums. If a rapper who flies a flag that draws inspiration from metal and gospel music sounds different to you, that's cool, because that's the way Irv intended it. "It's already a Lil Wayne, it's already a Young Jeezy, it's already a Rick Ross, so why would I worry about fitting in to what they are?" Irv explained, instead choosing to be himself. "I just do what I know — somebody out there is just like me."

While on the road with Tech, Irv did pick up some great touring habits. For one, he learned the importance of a quality stage show. Standing center-stage and rapping just won't cut it. Secondly, he saw the worth in going directly to his fans. Irv has more than 11,000 Twitter followers and a respectable digital presence, but he is best when he is face-to-face with his fans, selling physical CDs at meet-and-greets before his shows. "It's real important to actually go reach the fans, go touch 'em and let them see you out and about," he said.

Big Sean's debut LP Finally Famous was pretty darn good, but for his upcoming sophomore album, the Detroit MC is aiming to be even better.

"I feel like when I dropped my first album, I was still coming into myself as an artist," Sean told MTV News in May. "I have a better sense of who I am, what I represent, who I represent."

Sean hasn't announced the title of his next LP, but he did confirm with MTV News that it will come later this year, after G.O.O.D. Music's Cruel Summer compilation is released. He says that now he has a different mentality than he did on FF, which yielded hit singles like the Chris Brown-assisted "My Last" and "Dance (A$$)," a few all-star collaborators won't hurt either.

"I've been in the studio with 'Ye, talking with 'Ye, building ideas with No I.D., even with Nas, with other people and really talking to 'em and soaking up where their minds is at," Sean said, "Then taking that and applying it to what I know myself. It ain't no choice but to be good."

It was during his tour last year that Sean began to develop more as an MC. "I also have a sense of how people look at me, just by going on tour, my first solo tour, sold-out tour and seeing the people and kids who looked at me as a role model," he said. "That's when I realized when you got the mic, you got the crowd, you gotta say something, or else your moment in time is wasted. It's just a whole different thought mentality."

There was a time when the Ying Yang Twins were at the top of the rap game, but last week group member D-Roc hit a low point when he was arrested and hit with DUI, drug possession and child endangerment charges.

On June 1, D-Roc (born Deongelo Holmes) was arrested in Georgia after Gwinnett County police stopped the rapper for failing to drive in a single lane. According to a police report obtained by MTV News after the stop, D-Roc admitted to having "a few beers at a friend's house" and smoking marijuana earlier in the evening. He was driving with his children (a 3-year old and a 2-month-old), who were asleep in the back seat of his 2002 GMC Yukon Denali.

The arresting officer found two alprazolam pills on D-Roc's person, and upon searching the vehicle, the officer also found two grams of marijuana in a grinder.

During their height, the Ying Yang Twins experienced success with high-charting Billboard singles like 2000's "Whistle While You Twurk" and 2005's "Wait (The Whisper Song)." In 2003, they dropped their hit "Salt Shaker" and also guested on Lil Jon's #1 Rap single "Get Low." The duo earned two platinum albums with 2003's Me & My Brother and then again two years later with U.S.A. (United States of Atlanta). The Twins dropped Ying Yang Forever in 2009, but the double disc CD failed to match their previous success.

Last month, the group took it upon themselves to remix Justin Bieber's hit single "Boyfriend."

'Prometheus': Is There A 'Lost' Connection?

Posted: 08 Jun 2012 01:00 AM PDT

Film's co-writer Damon Lindelof talks to MTV News about similarities between film and TV series and the cosmic questions they ask.
By Kevin P. Sullivan

Damon Lindelof is no stranger to controversy. The writer/producer rose to stardom thanks to "Lost," the mystery-filled television series he co-created with J.J. Abrams. This weekend, "Prometheus" — a new film from Ridley Scott set in the "Alien" universe, which Lindelof co-wrote — opens in theaters, and it has already become a divisive topic of discussion among filmgoers.

Many have voiced complaints about "Prometheus" that echo the ones heard in 2010 after "Lost" aired its series finale. Scott's new film, like "Lost," does not offer explicit answers to all of the cosmic questions it poses, but adopts the idea of "definitive answers" as a central theme.

We spoke with Lindelof about the connections between "Prometheus" and "Lost," and whether the similarities are there purposefully or by coincidence.

Made to Divide? Despite the consistently polarizing nature of Lindelof's work both on "Lost" and "Prometheus," the writer said that divisiveness is not expected but understood. "I do think that it's possible to make something that's empirically awesome and that everybody loves, just as it's possible to make something that's a piece of sh-- and everybody hates," Lindelof said. "For me, my goal is to make something that everybody loves."

As a fan of the sci-fi franchises he's become involved with, including "Alien" and "Star Trek," Lindelof understands that to work in those arenas means not making everyone happy. "I think that I know and accept that the price of admission for me to basically crash those parties is that I'm not going to be able to please everybody, in some cases including myself," he said. "But I wouldn't change it for the world because these stories mean so much to me."

Finale Fallout In interviews, Lindelof has never tried to pretend that the "Lost" finale was anything but divisive, and he has spoken openly about how fan outrage has negatively affected him. The fans' demand for answers caused much of their frustration, and it's that same need that drives the main characters in "Prometheus." When you pair the ideas behind "Prometheus" and Lindelof's writing credit, it's difficult to avoid trying to connect the dots and provide your own explanation for the reasoning behind them. While it could never be as simple as "A led to B," Lindelof did explain that he took the job for "Prometheus" just weeks after the "Lost" finale aired.

"We acknowledge [that] asking questions you're not going to answer explicitly can lead to frustration and backlash, but Ridley knew all of that when he hired me," he said. "This was my first writing gig after 'Lost,' and it was ground zero of what I would say was the level of discontent surrounding the finale of the show and how well it wrapped everything up and answered people's burning questions to the point where Ridley and I talked actively about that a number of times in the first week that we met each other."

According to Lindelof, Scott appreciated the way "Lost" ended. "He was kind of delighted by it, and not delighted in the sense of that I was purposely withholding the answers," Lindelof said.

The Answers The crew of the spaceship Prometheus has to learn a lesson that's as old as science fiction itself. Definitive answers to life's toughest questions come at a cost that they may not be willing to pay, and for Lindelof, answering those questions in the film would have been even more unsatisfying.

"If you're going to write a movie about people who essentially want the following questions answered: 'Who made me and why?' 'What is the meaning of my life?' 'What happens when we die?' and 'Do we have to die?,' putting the answers to those in black and white on the page is a recipe for disaster because even had we tried to definitively answer those questions, there's no way that they would have been satisfying in any way," Lindelof said.

That isn't to say that "Prometheus" doesn't answer any questions. Lindelof said that he feels there are sufficient explanations for many of the film's biggest mysteries. "The movie had to be content with when the audience sees the trailer, and there are questions being asked in the trailer, and the trailer is asking the question of, 'We're going to meet our makers.' Does the movie answer the question of 'Are these people our makers?' Yes, I believe it does, definitely," he said.

Lindelof contends that when you're exploring ideas this large, you have to prepare yourself for a lack of a truly satisfying answer. "I wouldn't say, 'Lower your expectations,' but I also feel like there is a little bit of a sense of buyer beware going into a movie that is asking questions that are as ginormous as this."

Check out everything we've got on "Prometheus."

Moguai Talks Revved-Up 'In N' Out' Collabo With Tommy Trash

German DJ tells MTV News of creating big new sound on song's re-edit to play for summer festival crowds.

EDM fans worldwide know Moguai as one of the most diverse and prolific music-makers on deadmau5's Mau5trap label, an epicenter of EDM creativity.

MTV News caught up with the German DJ recently, and he gave us all the details on his latest album, MPire, and on his synth-centric collaboration with Tommy Trash called "In N' Out," including their revved up re-edit that's available on iTunes and is hovering high up on the Beatport charts.

"We did [the track] three and a half years ago in Germany. I know him only from touring of Australia, and in Germany or Europe nobody knew him at that time," Moguai told MTV News. "We did it, but it never came out. So I put it on the album, and right now it fits perfectly in the time."

Moguai said that "In N' Out" landing on his album is the kind of happy coincidence that always happens when DJs tour together. He added that including the track on his album was even more exciting after Trash had a huge year in 2011, with tracks like "The End" and "Cascade" becoming staples in DJ sets around the world.

"In N' Out" works well with MPire's melting pot of sound, which ranges from the quintessential progressive sound in "Lyme" to electro-house euphoria on the album's title track. Moguai told MTV News that they wanted to have a really big new sound on their edit of "In N' Out" for the huge festival crowds over the summer.

Moguai's adding more U.S. tour dates this summer. He'll be making his first summer tour stop on June 8 at Level in Kelowna, British Columbia. Then he's off to Chicago on June 9 to play Vision before hitting a plethora of festivals and nightclubs.

"I think EDM has found a new home here in America, but it's like the beginning, like hip-hop and R&B," he said. "It's a cultural thing right now. It won't disappear anymore."

Moguai has seen EDM grow into the mainstream in his native Germany, and he sees many parallels between the explosion of EDM in America and what Europe experienced nearly two decades ago.

"We had it in Germany," Moguai told MTV News. "We're still having it, but it feels like back in the days, back in the early '90s, you know, when we started with Love Parade and with the Mayday. It began with 500 people around Berlin, around Brandenburg, and from there the next year it was 5000, then 50,000, then 500,000, then 1.5 million, then 2 million, you know, and it grew up. [It] feels quite the same [energy] here."

Katy Perry may have declared herself a "Firework" on her 2010 Teenage Dream track, but this Fourth of July she'll perform alongside of them during the "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular."

The singer will appear on the annual televised party as the nation blows out the candles on another year. She'll be joined by Kenny Chesney when it all goes down on Independence Day at 9 p.m. ET. In addition to dazzling performances from Katy and Kenny, the show will also include 25 minutes of fireworks magic composed of 40,000 pyrotechnic shells.

"NBC is thrilled to have Katy Perry and Kenny Chesney join us in celebrating America's birthday," Doug Vaughan, senior vice president of NBC Entertainment's Special Programs and Late Night, said in a statement about the 36th installment of the annual special taking place in New York City. "These stars' powerful voices and stage presence will serve as the perfect complement to Macy's captivating visual artistry."

The performance couldn't come at a more perfect time for Perry, who will release her 3-D concert film, "Katy Perry: Part of Me," on July 5.

The film is part concert film, part documentary, featuring footage from Perry's eye-popping California Dreams Tour, as well as candid confessions about her life and vintage video of the pop star. In addition to the film, Perry also recently shot a music video for her Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection' track "Wide Awake."

"It's the most intimate I've ever been," she told MTV News about the movie. "I mean that in a non-sexual way ... I mean it in a vulnerable way. And so I'm not scared of it because I think it's important for me, and important these days, for people to not think people in my position are perfect and that if they want to achieve this type of dream or achieve a goal that they have to be flawless, they don't."

It seems that everyone has the fever these days. That fever is for the steamy erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey." And there are two more Hollywood A-listers who are potentially getting all hot and bothered.

Well, one of them is, at least.

Angelina Jolie had been rumored to be in the running to direct the big-screen adaptation of the E.L. James novel. Deadline reported that the film's studio had had a "conversation or two" with the actress about possibly helming the sexy film franchise. The trilogy follows the S&M relationship between shy college coed Ana Steele and her domineering billionaire beau, Christian Grey.

However, Jolie's rep tells The Hollywood Reporter that there haven't been any talks with the studio, Universal Pictures' Focus Features, about her coming on board to direct.

Well, with the studio on the lookout for not only a director but also a leading lady, they might want to call up the newly engaged Miley Cyrus. One day after announcing her impending nuptials to "Hunger Games" star Liam Hemsworth, she tweeted, "Reading 50 shades of grey next to the oldest dude ever. #awkward."

Even if Cyrus doesn't get the part of Ana, she is working on her own sexy project. The singer is currently hard at work on her next studio album, which sources say will be "very adult and sexy." The insiders add that Miley's music is reflecting her personal life, as she plans her wedding and approaches her big twentieth birthday later this year. The insider continues, "We are watching a young girl turn into a young woman."

But back to "Fifty Shades." Since the phenomenon took off, everyone from Julianne Hough to Nina Dobrev to Ian Somerhalder has opened up to MTV News about the novels, whether because they are fans or because they have an interest in tackling one of the roles.

Madonna went cheerleader chic in her "Give Me All Your Luvin' " video. Then she recalled her "Erotica" days for the "Girl Gone Wild" video. Now, it seems she might be living La Dolce Vita in her "Turn Up the Radio" clip.

Rumor has it that the singer will film the video on Sunday in Rome, under the direction of her "Give It 2 Me" music video director, Tom Munro. Oh No They Didn't further reports that the shoot may take place at the Rome Forum. "Turn Up the Radio" was announced as her next MDNA single back in April.

A rep for the singer had not responded to MTV News' request for comment by press time.

Currently she's in between shows on her MDNA Tour, having just performed in Istanbul on Thursday and gearing up to play in Rome at the Olympic Stadium on June 12.

The tour kicked off on May 31 in Tel Aviv, Israel, and will continue to travel all around Europe before heading Stateside in August for several months. Then she'll take the tour to South America in November for a handful of dates. The trek ends in December.

Although no details have been confirmed about the video, "Turn Up the Radio" producer Martin Solveig told us recently there are "no limits" to what the pair can do.

"We were working with no limits. I think the only thing that she said when we started was, 'I just want people to be able to dance to my music and connect easily with my music,' and also probably to take some risks at some point," Solveig said. "Other than this, it was open to any kind of experimentation."

One Direction seem fated to always top the charts, if the latest news is any indication. Their live DVD concert special, "Up All Night: The Live Tour," is #1 in 25 countries across the globe, including the United States.

"We're blown away by the success of the DVD all around the world and want to thank everyone who has gone out and bought it, the support means so much to us," Niall Horan said in a statement. "It was lots of fun filming the concert for the DVD, so we're chuffed [pleased] all the fans love it so much."

As if that weren't enough of an accomplishment, the guys also broke a sales record. The DVD outsold this week's #1 album, John Mayer's Born and Raised, making it the first #1 DVD to outsell a #1 album in the U.S. The 1D DVD sold 76,000 copies while Mayer sold 65,000 units in its second week on the top of the Billboard albums chart. Stateside, it marks the highest debut of 2012 and the second-highest debut of the past five years.

This is the second time the band has broken a sales record. In March, when they released their album Up All Night, they were the first British group to have their debut album bow at #1 on the Billboard chart.

While the guys are currently celebrating their latest chart achievement and touring North America, they are also working on new music. According to the press release, they are hitting the studio to record their sophomore follow-up to Up All Night.

Earlier this week, One Direction were rumored to be the subject of their own 3-D big-screen spectacle. Although no one from their camp has confirmed the rumor, the film would either be a Monkees-style comedy or a documentary.

NEW YORK — On Friday morning (June 8), VA hit NY with full force as megastar Chris Brown graced the outdoor stage of the "Today" show summer concert series. The soulful singer enchanted fans as he performed hits as well as a new song, "Don't Wake Me Up," from his upcoming album, Fortune.

Breezy belted out the songs to the ladies that filled Rockefeller Plaza, singing fan favorites like "Yeah 3X," "Forever"' and "Turn Up The Music." There was no shortage of energy as Team Breezy responded by screaming at the top of their lungs and yelling out the lyrics to every song.

"I love you, Team Breezy!" Chris shouted several times, definitely feeling the love.

The "Beautiful People" singer put on a performance to remember, effortlessly gliding across the light-filled stage. Between occasional bursts of smoke, his spirited dance team kept the audience on their feet.

Brown recently dropped the video for his summer anthem "Till I Die." The self-directed vid features Chris stirring up trouble in his 9-to-5, and then later linking up with Wiz Khalifa and Big Sean for a smoke fest. Snoop Dogg also makes a cameo in the clip, picking up his homeys in a yellow, old-school pimp-style convertible. The video wraps as the group reaches their destination: a foggy frat house filled with smoke in which marijuana enthusiasts Method Man and Redman make an appearance.

Brown's Fortune album is set to drop on July 3.

In less than a month, Katy Perry's 3-D docu-concert, "Part of Me," will hit theaters across the world and give fans a look at the pop star's road to superstardom, including her divorce from husband Russell Brand. It's one of the more anticipated topics in the film, and it appears as if Perry has started to spill a little about how she coped with the fallout.

On Thursday, Perry visited the U.K.'s "Graham Norton Show" for a chat, and she discussed how she prevented any personal lows from affecting her extensive California Dreams World Tour.

"I love being onstage, and even though I went through some pretty tough times last year, I had to separate that because I know my problems are my problems and they are not the audience's problems," Perry told the talk-show host.

Always a true professional, Perry had a "show must go on" mentality, saying, "They are here to see a show and to be entertained, so I got on that lift, put a smile on my face and went up (onstage) with my t--s spinning!"

Perry hasn't given up on love either, as it's been reported that the singer rekindled her romance with Florence and the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd. After the television taping, the duo were spotted together walking the streets of London and getting comfy in a car. Back in May, Us Weekly reported that the duo amicably parted ways after dating for a just few weeks.

Nonetheless, Perry is rolling with the good times, especially with the looming release of "Katy Perry: Part of Me" on July 5. Earlier in the day, the media darling took to Twitter to share her excitement over her surprise appearance at a fan screening for the Paramount film. "Had tons o' fun in London today at a surprise screening ... Wish I could sit w/ all of u when u see #KP3D," she wrote.

'Snow White And The Huntsman' Sequel Moves Forward

'I think the corruption of power would be the second one,' director Rupert Sanders told MTV News of his sequel plans.

It's time to re-saddle those horses and take up your armor again, fantasy fans. "Snow White and the Huntsman" is returning once more.

Universal is moving forward with their plans to make a sequel to Rupert Sanders' edgy adaptation of the classic fairy tale, following the film's box-office debut with $56.3 million last weekend. Deadline New York reports that David Koepp is already working on the script, and now the studio is in talks with Sanders about returning to direct.

In "Snow White and the Huntsman," the princess (Kristen Stewart) is helplessly locked in a tower by Queen Ravenna until an opportune moment helps her escape. She journeys into the Dark Forest, where she meets the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth), and together they fight the evil witch to win back their kingdom.

When MTV News sat down with Sanders last month to discuss the film, he revealed his initial ideas for the sequel, saying Snow White's newfound supremacy may lead to her downfall.

"I think the corruption of power would be the second one. I think we've created this very chaste girl who's got to this position and now she's in this position of supreme power," he said. "We wanted to be contemporary with the theme here and I think in the next film we'll do the same. There's so many examples of people corrupted by power. When we were talking about it, myself and [producer] Joe Roth, there were so many things happening in the newspapers of these very powerful men abusing that power in hotels and sports locker rooms. People who get powerful sometimes lose their bearings and abuse that power and that's kind of an intoxicating theme."

While the story line certainly sounds interesting, when we spoke to Stewart at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, she seemed skeptical.

"Well, I'm not saying anything. Nothing at all," she laughed. "Let's undermine our entire lead character in the very second [film]. It's like, 'No, that's my whole [thing].' It would be so weird to [make her darker]. It would break me, which would probably be interesting to watch."

"But then we have to rebuild you, which is exciting," co-star Hemsworth added.

The actress, however, has nothing to fear yet. While Sanders is attracted to this character arc for the fairy-tale princess, he's not positive that we'll see her go rogue in the sequel.

"I'm not sure whether that's what the second film will be," he said. "But I like that idea at the moment. You['ve] got to play with it a bit."

Check out everything we've got on "Snow White and the Huntsman."

In her post-"Harry Potter" career, Emma Watson has already racked up some impressive credits with grade-A filmmakers. Last year, she had a supporting role in the well-received My Week With Marilyn," and she just wrapped her turn as a bad girl in Sofia Coppola's "The Bling Ring."

Now, Deadline New York is reporting that Watson is in talks for a role in Darren Aronofsky's biblical epic, "Noah."

Watson would play Ila, a young woman on that famous ark, who, according to Deadline, develops a "close relationship" with the character Shem, played by Douglas Booth.

"Noah" will feature Russell Crowe as the title character, the man who gathers two of every animal and builds an enormous boat to continue life on Earth after an apocalyptic flood.

The ambitious project has added a few other castmembers in recent weeks with Watson's "Perks of Being a Wallflower" co-star Logan Lerman and Booth both signing on to play Noah's sons Ham and Shem, respectively.

Watson may have been sending her fans a small hint about potentially joining the film. On May 22, the actress tweeted, "Just added @DarrenAronofsky. I love his work. P.S. don't be put off by his profile picture! : ) x."

Watson should have an eventful few months if she eventually signs on to "Noah." Aronofsky is reportedly seeking a July start date for an eventual release in March of 2014. Her next film, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," is set for a limited in September, and "The Bling Ring" should hit theaters sometime next year.
